I guess to properly I.D. this drilling, the fore end must be removed to access all the marking. This appears to be a replacement part, and I do not know how to remove it. Also, what are the chances of finding the correct wood. And any opinions on its value like it is ? HELP !!! [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img]

The entire forend, metal and wood, is a replacement. I would think the gunsmith who built the new metal parts fabricated a system to remove the forend by just pulling it against a friction or spring device. Go ahead and pull. It is a nice looking piece otherwise.

You will never in a million years find wood or metal like the original. Work with what you have and try to finish it in a style you can live with.
