OP Franc Otte Sidelock Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 3,553 NH	I guess it was about 15 years ago when I was first able to lightly scratch that long itching for a SxS, a nice Vintage one. I'd never heard of this site... , or the DGJ(When did they both start??)though I found the old Gunshop.com pretty soon. Anyway, I bumped into a good few VL&D F'Cottes..from Knocka's throuugh 14/18 ,20 25,30 , 45Eagle...though never a SideLock or Hammer Gun in the flesh. I always thought they were Fine Guns, my first 3Guns were A F's. Always loved that HorseShoe Rib pattern, their Sideplate Bl treatment, the gorgeous Ribband /Rushes type carving on the Fences , good wood ,& just the overall lovely workmanship.... Yes!!!!...I was buying the Gun...not the(then unknown to me) name! I would love to see pics of a high grade HammerGun or nice S/Locks you lads might have. I'd enjoy them Cheers Roger B

I was hoping for a few Pictures of some Best Grade Hammers ..SLE's. I guessv when VL&D were importing...the HammerGuns were passe' the only HammerGuns I've seen weren't up to Bobs medium grade(my guess) Quality n were prettu crumby looking. Keep m coming Franc
