Check out the stock on this Parker: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/conten...erarchyId=11657That's what's Cabela's calls "Excellent". I like how they refrain from mentioning the gun's total lousy refinish. Buyer beware! OWD

I think the pictures show exactly what the gun is. If the barrels are good, someone is going to like that gun at some negotiated price.

i'm not convinced that's the original wood if that's what some posters are getting at. looking at the wrist and the forend, i don't believe the checkering could have been removed that thoroughly and have left that large a circumference on the wrist and particularly have not destroyed the lower line of the forend.
i think it's a re-stock and somebody was too cheap to pay for checkering.

I think fnb25 is right on the nose with a restock. The fit of the wood to the frame looks to good to be original if the person that "restored" it had to sand the checkering off.

Where in the advert does it say 'original wood', 'original stock' or 'original finish'?
They even say it has been 'restored'. I don't see them as hiding anything or trying to mislead.
I don't think they have misstated anything. The condition is rather good to excellent. Is it original? That is open to debate.

The condition is "OK but highly unoriginal" due to the wood being replaced, and poorly done.
Someone could use that gun and enjoy it but the price they are asking does not reflect the poor wood.
If you are unsure if the wood is original, take a look at the profile of the pistol grip, then the large space between the grip cap and the balance of the stock. No way could you rework original wood like that.

What's the big deal?
It ain't excellent - far from it, actually.
It's poorly restored and messed up. And a company that seems credible should come out and tell you what is what.
Sure they show pics; but if you're a newbie, there's a lot there you may not see.
Leaving stuff out can be just as misleading as lying.
