Great Picture. Looks like my "Fine Damascus Finish" Belgium gun did before I refinished it. Wish I had taken pictures.
Seems like this process was only used in Belgium on their steel barrels; at least I haven't seen any exceptions.
Have to correct myself

there was one higher dollar gun in the 1895 catalog which had a steel barrel: an LC Smith Pigeon Grade with "Crown Steel" (probably a trade name) barrels. It sold for $100 while other SxS's went from $6.50-$260.00 (a Greener).
In the 1892 catalog, the "Remington New Model" Hammer Gun (probably called the "1892" later) sold for $40 with 'Decarbonized Steel Barrels'. Twist and Damascus barrels were higher. I expect the Remington-Whitmore Model 1874 may have been the first modern steel barrel SxS ever. It could be had with "Fluid Steel" barrels as well as Damascus.
Also, some of the least expensive guns had Damascus Barrels.
