OP oscarlovel Sidelock Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 51 Louisiana	Just won a low bid auction on Gunbroker for a Crescent Empire 60 hammerless sxs. It has a damascus pattern imprinted on the barrels according to the owner. My research shows that Crescent manufactured this model from 1928-1932 or so -- well after Damascus shut down. Owner says they are fluid steel barrels. I have also seen an American Gun Co. SxS with similar appearance barrels that are factory stamped as Genuine Armory Steel. My question is, did Crescent make the Empire 60 with a fake Damascus pattern on the barrels as a factory option? I know they are clunkers, but I still enjoy fooling with them!

When I asked if they were stamped as fluid steel, he said "no". This is after having asked about the Damascus issue prior to bidding. I honestly cannot tell by the pictures on the GB site. My reference texts make no mention of Damascus barrels being available on the Empire 60.
