Ansley H. Fox Championship

Attention: Fox shooters who would like to compete in our second annual “Ansley H. Fox Championship” while at the Vintage Cup this year.

The 2009 Vintage Cup will be held at Pintail Point, Queenstown, MD from September 24-27. The Vintagers will be running their American Classic event on Thursday through Saturday, and the A.H. Fox Collectors Association Inc. will offer our Ansley H. Fox Championship as a “Concurrent” with the American Classic venue. Please check the Vintagers website at http://www.vintagers.org for full details.

This competition is open to anyone who plans to shoot a Fox-designed shotgun (see below). You don't have to be a member of the A H Fox Collectors Association. AHFCA annual and life members will pay a $10.00 entry fee. Entry fee for non-members is $15.00. "Registered users” on the AHFCA Forums are non-members if they are not annual or life members.

TO ENTER:

STEP 1 Fox gun shooters should register for the American Classic event with the Vintagers organization. Although the American Classic runs from Thursday through Saturday, please note that shooting for the Ansley H. Fox Championship can ONLY be done on Friday or Saturday when the Fox Collectors will have full staffing at our tent booth/table.

STEP 2 Participants must bring their blank shooting score card by our Fox table, before doing any shooting on the American Classic course. Each participant will pay their entry fee and agree to shoot with a Fox-designed gun on the American Classic course. The blank scorecard will be stamped with our official Fox Collectors stamp to verify the entry. Anyone shooting the course before paying the entry fee is ineligible to compete in the AHF Championship. Acceptable genuine Fox guns are 12-16-20 gauge Philadelphia or Savage-Utica manufacture, or 16-20-28-410 CSMC Fox. Philadelphia Arms Company guns are also acceptable. No Fox Model B’s or clones.

STEP 3 After the contestant shoots the American Classic venue, they are asked to bring their score card back by the Fox Collectors table to have the score entered in our record. High score - as confirmed by the Vintagers - will win the Ansley H. Fox Championship and be featured in our Association’s Newsletter “The Finest Gun in the World”. The Ansley H. Fox Champion also receives a very nice Trophy and a 5-year free membership or membership extension in the A.H. Fox Collectors Association.

The Fox Collectors will name two additional Champions, as follows

“FE Grade Champion” – Second Place Finisher – FE Trophy award and 3-year free membership
“DE Grade Champion” - Third Place Finisher – DE Trophy award and 2-year free membership

In the event of a tie or ties, the official places as determined by the Vintagers (long run, tie-breaker stations, or shoot off) will be used to determine our three Championship winners.

The FE Grade Champ and DE Grade Champ will also be featured in our Association Newsletter.

Since scores will be recorded by Pintail Point station referees, all shooters including Fox officers are welcome to enter our Ansley H. Fox Championship event.

If any of the three winners is already a Life Member of the Fox Collectors, comparable recognition will be made in lieu of the free membership award. The Fox Directors in attendance at the Vintage Cup reserve the right to make field decisions on anything not specifically noted herein. Vintagers rules will be used insofar as possible.
