I have only handled them and spoken to the Flodman folks at the SHOT Show a few years ago.

Interesting concept and a very modern design. The "hinge" that they use is now being used or very similiar by Remington(?).

One cool thing is that you can get Damasteel barrels on a Flodman gun.

Overall it struck me as a very good and durable gun available in many rifle calibers to go along with the shotgun barrels. They are expensive and the stainless steel finish put me off since I like traditional blued guns.

All of the above is just opinion because in their price range a Flodman gun won't reside in my safe any time soon.

If you haven't done so yet Google them up, they have a pretty good website.

Seems to me they were somewhat similar to the Browning Cynergy guns. JL

About 20 years ago at an NRA convention I handled, and seriously thought about the "Caprinus Sweden", which if I understand the history became the Flodman. All I remember were heavy target guns, but the spec sheet I saved showed a 6.8 pound game gun as well. While the metal work was good and the design interesting, the wood-to-metal fit was nothing to write home about. I think in mainly interested me because of my Swedish ancestry, but now a couple of Husqvarna 310s has that satisfied.

I think there was an article in DGJ about them. Not sure which issue.

Try this link: http://www.flodman.com/pages/engflo.htm

I kind of like the technology involved, but they are not cheap. They can make barrels out of Titanium or Damasteel which looks like twist or Damascus.

Like Researcher, my Swedish ancestry calls out for one, but I guess my Husqvarna 103 CS and 43 will have to keep me satisfied!

Take care,

Mike
