Please do not forget about the insane prices the sellers ask for their guns when they want to sell them to dealers

Concerning Puglisi, I made a recent purchase from them. Lindner Daly Featherweight. Asked some of the Daly experts about it; feeling seemed to be that the price was fair. Well, the ejectors tripped on opening the gun, and there was a tiny chip missing from the corner of the forend, where the iron and barrels meet. (It was small enough I almost missed it.) I knew about the ejector issue because a friend who'd looked at the gun recently noticed the problem.

Anyhow, the agreed price included fixing the ejectors. Jack said he'd have his guy take care of the little chip too. All on his dime, after we agreed on the price. So I asked him, when can I expect to see the gun? Maybe a month? (Given the nature of the doublegunsmithing business, I thought I was being way optimistic.) Oh no, says Jack. Much sooner than that. Tells me he has to send the gun off, get it back, then ship it down to my dealer in Iowa. I'm thinking yeah, right, quicker than a month.

I bought the gun on a Tuesday. Jack UPS'd it to his gunsmith the following day. I picked it up from my dealer in Iowa on a Monday--a day shy of two weeks after I bought it. Say what you want about prices (and he's now having a "stimulus sale", in case you haven't checked his list lately), but I thought that was absolutely outstanding service.

Hey Joe- tell you what- as a peace offering to the gent from You-Taw that likes LeFevers, let's you and I pool our green stamps and buy him a nice over priced Purdey from Willoghby McCabe and Schwartz- always wanted to buy a shotgun from a Texas dealer with a fancy-schmancy name. Wonder if they offer a 3 day No Questions Asked return for full refund policy like my friend Bill Jaqua of Findlay always did-have to do a "checky checky" on that-one hazard of the "previously owned" gun trade, besides the "elite insiders"- akin to AIG honchos I'd wager-is the question of buying sight unseen, or for that matter, offering a gun for sale on ANY internet website- Not smart poker for Foxes-

Runs at the mouth-

This topic is about "Insane Prices" not "Inane Comments."

Please take your cheap shots, borish behavior, and barely comprehensible posts elsewhere.

Thanks

Here's to HomoJoe and Runs at the Mouth. Its usually the broke dicks that complain about what they consider over priced guns. You probably cant afford them to start with now can you boys?
Again I ask, "what makes you experts at gun pricing"? Do you make a living in the trade?
And for your information, I bought one of Mr. McCabe's guns and his return policy is "if you dont like it, return it".
You guys talk smack but my God! I would love to see you have the nuts to talk to someone that way in person!
