Does anyone know if any walnut grows in Afghanistan? we were on an operation and went through a wood yard and I saw the ends of some logs that looked like they had some nice color to them. Was wondering if there is any thin shelled walnut here???

It should. It is believed to have originalted in ancient Persia, a next door neighbor. The Romans took it everywhere they went, which is believed to be how it got to Europe.

Thanks for serving our country, hopefully it well be worth it inspite of all the crap going on in congress.

But yes! pretty much any country that ends in a Stan has the good walnut, a wood buyer that I know is over there right now. The Russians would come into the surrounding countries over there and "employ, like they had options" the local stock maker's to build rifleblanks for there military rifles and such.
