I just purchased a set of screwdrivers made to fit a specific gun from Grace Usa. I discovered they will grind a custom set of screwdrivers to fit any gun. It is not a close fit it is an exact fit! You may send them the screws or give them the exact dimensions. The cost is ten dollars per screwdriver including shipping and return of your screws. If you dislike the play in replaceable tip drivers like I do, and want to keep your screw heads perfect it's well worth it. http://www.graceusaguntools.com

I don't know if they still do it, but Grace used to sell pre-ground sets for specific gun lines. I think they had a Colt 1911 set, a Smith & Wesson revolver set, etc.

Tom,
I agree that the "play" in the fit is bothersome in the begining. I bought a set of the Wheeler Engineerng 72 piece set. It has bits that will fit my Greener and my L.C.'s. In the thinner slots it gives you two. There is also 2 different size drivers.
It was $54 well spent. The selection of bits fit the slots perfectly, and the slight bit of play is not a problem.

Or, if you have a background in machine tool work, buy two sets of Grace Gunsmith turnscrews- and when needed, grind (with proper quench to preserve temper) on a fine grit wheel those you need to fit certain screws and then mark same on the handle(s) with Magic Marker, covered with transparent tape if you like. I don't usually strip down my double guns, but the trigger guard retaining screw on the Model 12's- and certain grip screws on the Colts require a "special fit"- I also make my own spanner wrench for removing the forearm front retaining ring that is threaded inside and holds the forearm in place on the Model 12, and TIG welded an extension onto a Stanley straight shanked turnscrew to remove the recessed stock mounting bolt also on the Model 12- And as all the screws on an early M70 required to dis-assemble or re-assemble the barrel/receiver group to the stock, I ground and marked Grace turnscrews for that too.
