Our dark goose season closed today, and as I was sitting by the river, I thought about the past year, the good things. It's appropriate to give thanks to the people who made this a truely GRAND year.
First, always first, To our good Lord, who by his grace, has seen fit to allow me to spend 147 days in the field this Year,at AGE 74, enjoying good friends, good guns, good dogs.
Then, to old Dave who provides this forum, to share with folks some pics and experiences.
Then to all of the Guys on this BBS, who arrived as guests, left as friends. Notably: Joe Wood, Amarillo Mike, Mark Gruber, Peter B, and others who came by and hunted with us....
The people from the various "Vintager" Chapters who seemed to be always here, sharing guns, Whisky, lies, and companionship.
We will be cutting back next year to allow Diane and I more more time, for each other, our horses, and our pastimes.
I would ask all of you, to reflect on the good stuff of this year, and to raise a glass to that, and absent friends, and good friends and the future of our great country..
God Bless All Here!
