I know that you have been compiling a listing of Meriden shotguns. I have reported in the past. Here is an update including one just acquired ...all are 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge guns.

1. SN 63754...model 55, 28 inch Krupp barrels, extractor gun with double triggers and beavertail fore-end.
2. SN 55032...model 35 with 28 inch Krupp barrels, auto-ejector and double triggers, splinter fore-end.
3. SN 64744...model 35 with 32 inch Krupp barrels, auto-ejector and double triggers, splinter fore-end.

Questions: do you have a catalog of Meriden shotguns that show the guns by model number???? I acquired a 1910 catalog that only shows the guns by letter ...A thru F. Are the Meriden model numbers the same as Aubrey model numbers?

Thanks so much for these. The M55 should have more engraving than the M35's. Eventually the M35 was offered in 20ga. I will update the list with the details you kindly provided.

Your guns were made 1913-1914, so the 1908 descriptions don't quite fit exactly. Usually the amount of engraving stayed the same. In 1910 they published a Meriden Firearms Catalog, separate from the Sears Catalog. It had some very high end guns listed with the top of the line starting at $250. They published at least 3 Meriden Catalogs.

I am looking to acquire a M58.

I just picked up an AJ Aubrey at a show a few weeks ago and thought I'd give you the info on the gun:
Serial 10989
Gauge 12
Bbl length 30"
Bbl type Steel (non damascus)
Rib Patent Applied For
Triggers 2
Extractors (no ejectors)
Markings on water table S30 & 10989 (no other markings)

Thanks a bunch. I have added the information you provided to my notes. That is a very early gun, 1906. Does it have any engraving?

I am in the process of converting my spreadsheet into an online database. It will take a while.

I am getting a pretty good flow of new info now via emails.

Well, just heard from another Meriden owner. He was a custom engraved gun with name FH MOAK on it. It was one of the last guns to leave to the factory, at least from what I can tell by the serial number.

My gun just has a line that goes around the lock plates and the fore end iron. Nothing fancy.
