Sorry about the non doublegun question but nobody knows more than this group. I have a Remington 700 that has a custom Mannlicher stock and a Canjar Trigger and a douglas barrel. I can not figure out how to remove the bolt. Is there anyone who can help?

There should be a button in front of the trigger, assuming Canjar used the normal Remington bolt stop mechanism.

The only button in front of the trigger is the floor plate latch on the trigger guard.

If there is no button inside the trigger guard just ahead of the trigger(recessed upward) try pulling the bolt fully rearward and sqeez-ing the trigger then pulling out the bolt or, doing the same procedure, push foward on the safety lever? I regret I sold my 700!

On mine, which I sold recently, I pushed up on the bolt release inside the trigger guard and pulled back the bolt.

I've tried all of the above. The Canjar trigger must change things and renders the bolt not removable. Thanks for the replies.

The button is right in front of the trigger. It realy doesn't look like a button just a square section just in front of the trigger.

Remove the barreled action from the stock and see if you can see if there is anything holding it in. As gunny just described in the previous reply the button is a little square thing right in front of the trigger and you can try pushing it with an object. I'm able to push mine with my finger nail.

You shouldn't have to remove the barreled action from the stock. Take a long slim nail or a stiff piece of wire about the size of a toothpick and holding the rifle right side up,with the bolt open, put the nail or wire along the left side of the bolt. There is a slot there that has the bolt stop in it. Push down with the wire while gently slideing the bolt slightly back and forth. When the bolt stop goes down, the bolt should come out. Bill

Something that doesnt mar is a dime. Insert it on left side, you will see a piece that is to the left of the bolt. put the dime on it and push down and pull the bolt rearward.
