Gentlemens: Are any of you folk going to be attending the Guild show next weekend in Reno? I will be there with the Pig and Prairie Dog rifle and another item or two for show and tell. If you can make it be sure to stop by and chatter for a while. If you make it be sure to have a look at the 2009 Guild raffle rifle, which is a take down Winchester low wall .22 Hornet in a party dress. It is a beautiful rifle and well worth the price of a raffle ticket or seven. http://www.acgg.org/news/firearms-engravers-gunmakers-exhibitionsmhttp://www.acgg.org/raffle/firearm-raffle-projectsBest to all, Glenn

You know the Guild can always count on me for the 18th or 19th time, ......I'm leaving in a couple of hours as it's a 5 day drive each way, but wouldn't miss it for anything! Only one that travels further would be Ian from Belgium and they're leaving on the weekend. You can count on seeing us, and I'd encourage anyone with an interest in quality firearms to make the trip and attend the seminars. So, God willin, I'll be there!!!

It is really too bad that I didn't know about this earlier. I would have bought a ticket or two. But the closing date for buying them through the mail has come and gone.
Does the money raised go to any specific cause?
Maybe next year's rifle will be as interesting.

This year's raffle gun is spectacular. Roger Ferrell did the metal work, and lives only 75 miles from me. He has done work for me in the past, and is a real fanatic about getting his work perfect, a true craftsman. He's also a very good stocker, although someone else did the wood on this gun.

Chief, you're certainly correct about Roger's work. He is a perfectionist and a great guy also. He also has a dry sense of humor with a Georgia accent. I will say that his taste in scotch is different as Glenn will attest to. Something about old damp sweat socks is sorta what I remember. Roger, if you're reading this, we're just kidding!

Roger: If you are reading this, he is NOT kidding. Nor am I. Mr. Mann and I are bringing a Highland single malt that will hopefully be a kinder and gentler evening companion. Brent: You wants it a raffle ticket? I will buy it for you one. Or more. Work with me here. Glenn

I didn't realize Roger was registered here. Good, I'll try to find his posts.
EDIT: Roger says he is not registered here. Doesn't seem particularly interested. Doug, maybe you can get him to sign up.

Glenn, I realize this may be dangereous, working with you, but I'll take 2. The one that wins, and one more for good faith:) Seriously, I'd buy a pair if you can make it happen. But, Glenn, don't let Doug drink too much now... I'm hoping he will checker my highwall.... Brent

Brent:
Send it to me an email with your address and such and I will print it out and put it in my official real businessman's brief case and take it along. I will put your name on the entries and enlist the lovely Ms. Jill Katzung (one of the cell mates at our island of tables) to bear witness to my perfidy... err... integrity.

I bought a ticket earlier this week by phone, a nice young lady took my info and said I would get mailed my receipt.
