A few years ago I saw a magazine article about a side safety for a Martini action. I thought it was in Rifle or Handloader but I can't find it in my copies. It may have been in another magazine. Does anyone remember the article or perhaps have a copy? Failing that, would anyone know of a smith who can install a safety? What I have in mind is a side safety as on the Greener GP gun, not the one that fits behind the trigger.

Not even a cross bolt that fits behind the trigger?

Vol, I remember an article in Precision Shooting about a Martini side safety done by Don Lewis. If I recall, it cammed behind the trigger to prevent firing. It was installed by gunsmith Jim Peightal in Pennsylvania. I think I can find his contact information if you're interested. Steve

I should have been more careful about how I worded that. It's on a shaft through the frame that looks like it cams in FRONT of the upper part of the trigger. Jim Peightal's number is (or was) (724) 349-5216. Hope this helps. Steve

Bob Snapp in MI used to make safeties for Martini Cadets. You might find his number in the latest Gun Digest, if he is still in biz.

What happened to that screw?! Tom > It's been slightly 'roughened' so you won't mistake it for the safety button when your finger reaches for it.
