I have a Fulton "Ranger" with serial # 173K which from my limited research seems to have been manufactured around the early part of 39'. Does anyone have any brochures, catalogs, advertisements or techincal documents on these Fultons?

"The Fulton" was an economy grade shotgun manufactured by L C Smith. There is a recent post about these guns on this forum, if you scroll down a few pages, you will see it. The LC Smith collectors board on the net has a serial number table available for dating of your gun. They are excellent guns, I have a few. I will be posting today, a pic of one I just got back from Fred Wenig, who restocked it for me. (a 16...Enjoy!)

After reviewing some of the pics on the picturetrail, my gun seems to be pretty mint. It's a 12ga (Ranger) 30" barrels with double beads and grip cap. Everything seems to be original except that based on earlier posts my left barrel choke has probaly been opened in the past (0.017" R, 0.009" L). Stock near perfect and CC & blueing 90 %. Mirror bores. I paid $499 out the door - price on target ?

Not sure what you have, but I always compare what I see to what else can be found in given price range. How does yours compare to: Eastern Arms Co., IZH Remingtonsky, Winchester 24, Fox B, Stevens 311,.....?

R barrel tighter than the left? Odd. Sounds like someone wanted IC/M rather than M/F but was too cheap to open both barrels. Not really a problem, if you can get used to doing the reverse trigger shuffle.

For whatever reason, you tend to see quite a few Fultons with a lot of CC left. Must've had something to do with the CC process Hunter Arms used on those.

That seems to be a very good price if the condition is as you say, especially with 30 inch tubes....I would like to find one like that!
