Ebay not a stakeholder in paypal they OWN it. Your paypal account can be terminated if they suspect you are using them to buy and sell guns and related items. Use paypal discretely (subject line should not reflect the item).
Ebay is a Kalifornia company and therefore reflect PRK laws. They take it one step further and prohibit gun parts (anything they think is necessary to make the gun shoot) so they arent named in a lawsuit like the Virginia Tech nut who bought his 9mm magazine on ebay.
I'm still convinced a lot of gunshow tables are fellas who bring down there stuff, tack on a very high inflated price just so they can get in the night before to set up and deal with the other tables. The cost of a table is a small price to pay when you get first crack at all the good stuff.
Yard sales have been good to me this year..

I'm not sure why I like this thread so much, but every contributor said something I could identify with my own feelings on gun shows. I have met the same people, refuse the beef jerky samples, and never could understand the Chinese tools at gun shows. I quess the thought that maybe there will be that gold nugget that each of us is searching for, maybe on the next table. Hey, don't knock the Chinese tools! Fishing, I've lost more forceps than I care to mention; the gun shows keep me stocked up! And that magnified triple clip vise thingy is really pretty handy for a lot of stuff!

Ebay not a stakeholder in paypal they OWN it. You gotta learn to read: I said, "Most of the eBay action today involves payment by PayPal, with eBay becoming a stakeholder in the transaction." Of course eBay owns PayPal, that's why eBay becomes a stakeholder in the TRANSACTION.

I dunno guys--good guns are like Elk, they are where you find them. Or, put another way, if you want to find a prince you have to kiss a lot of frogs. I can scan a 700 table commercial show in just under 3 hours, and I do it about twice a year. The secret is to ignore the black gun tables, and walk quickly looking side to side until something catches your eye. In 15 years I've bought two collectible Parkers at well below book, and passed on a few others. I always ask before I touch, and never waste my time with conmen. I will occasionally chew the fat with someone who has a nice set of goods, even though I'm not really interested. Just pay them a compliment and move on. The state collector association shows are a different story. More to look at, but harder to find the undervalued sleeper.

Spent a couple of hours at a gun show in Allentown, PA this past weekend. Great disappointment, save for the Deeley & Edge .400-.360 single shot (which I was afraid to price) and the nicely refinished Belgian .450 BPE double rifle a guy was walking around trying to sell for $3500. Alas, college tuition bills for the spring semester for my three sons await payment, so both the D&E and the .450 were (sadly) left to the custody of the then current owners.
There was a very nice display of Bergmann-Bayard pistols, not for sale. Crowds were thin, to my surprise, as I'd been told that the local gunshows and gunshops were crowded with buyers anticipating the new administrations gun bans. Perhaps the flood had crested earlier in the day.
Since I'm primarily a sxs shotgun and single shot rifle guy and favor revolvers over semi-automatic handguns, I'd gone with the hope that the depressed economic conditions would flush out items of interest to me and rationalize prices on same. Foolish me!
