My all time favorite bird dog "Shadow" was killed last week. "Betty Boop", an 18 month old shorthair joined us Saturday.I worked her east of the home place today. This pic shows her first ever bird. Good point and retrieve. Gun is one of them eyethakies from NY State, 32 inch FF tubes ejectors...no I am not going to open the chokes...

Sorry about your Shadow....I know a new dog cant fill the empty spot in your heart the old dog left..but Im sure she will find a new one....
No need to open the chokes...just by lopping a couple inches off the overly lengthy barrels should do fine....

Gosh Chuck, what a contrast, you stuck in between that beatuiful pup, the pheasant, the Ithaca, the yellow flowers, the pretty white farm house with the red door - it is kinda like a pig's butt sticking out of pile of roses!  Nice pup, nice rooster. Best, Mike

I got some Ithaca sixteens that I would like to shoot a rooster with. But if I have to shoot your birds for you again you have to replace the shells and pick up all expenses and clean the birds.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your field companion. I love the GSP's and the one in your photo is a real beauty. I find the females better hunter/companions but I know that is only my personal preference. Do you know what line she is out of? Alot of great GSP's in your area.
