I have a friend who has offered to sell me about 20 lbs. of bismuth BBs at a good price. While bismuth shot is both hard to find and expensive, BBs certainly aren't my first choice in size. I'd be much more interested if they were 2s or 4s. What do you guys think? Are BBs, especially in a 12-gauge, adequate for waterfowling? A load of 1 3/8 oz. delivers ony about 69 pellets, I believe, but then again, just one or two need to find their mark to do the job. I'm weighing the pros and cons and looking for guidance. Thanks in advance. TT

Nice for Giant Canadas, but not much else if you ask me.

I shoot BB at everything (waterfowl that is). It is the only shot size I buy for waterfowl. If you don't want it I will gladly take it.

I like a little more pattern density for ducks personally, but then again I used to shoot 7 1/2 live pigeon loads at them during the early season when lead was legal. I think BB is fine for geese. Have shot a lot of it at them both lead, steel, and bismuth.

I've used BB's for everythings from fox and bobcat to ducks and honkers and house protection. It does serve best in a fuller choked gun.

Thanks for that input, guys. My go-to gun is a mod and full Birmingham (Betts) 3-in. waterfowler, for what that's worth. Any other thoughts from duck and goose hunters will be read with interest. TT

Bismuth BB's is what I shoot in my 10 bore, 3 1/2" double for Canadas. It positively stones them!
