Yesterday I acquired a Kreighoff, Semper Model, 44 cm long, insert barrel assembly. It is chambered for the .22 Winchester magnum cartridge and is for a 16 gauge chamber. My question is, does anyone know how, or know a source of info, to make the necessary adjustments to fit it to the chamber. The square-drive screw, which draws back the tapered “shoe” and locks the assembly in place, is pretty straightforward. However, I’m not so sure about the purpose of, and the proper adjustment of, the two smaller sliding “shoes”, which are each held in place by a pair of tiny fillister-head screws.

I don't have a Kreighoff insert, but my insert is similar. The tiny screws are windage and elevation adjustments. The key is to to keep the insert in the same position each time the insert is placed in the barrel. My drilling has a notch filed in the extractor and a matching pin on the insert. Place the insert's pin on the notch and tighten the insert. Then fire, loosen, adjust point of impact, tighten, shoot again and repeat as necessary. Good luck!

I once had a Kreighoff insert for .22LR in 16ga in a hammer drilling. It had the little pin with extractor notch as stated & also a screw in one side which had a little c'bore cut into the rim seat for the 16ga rim. As Vol said you moved the two little pads around till it would shoot to the sights. At this point you could back off the screw with the key, remove & turn back in to the same setting. I no longer have the insert & forget exactly how it was done, but you then set a stop on the removal screw so it always went back to the same tension. Mine was very accurate & repeted with consistency, but I foolishly let another gentleman talk me out of it one day. I did turn a fairly nice profit on it though.
