This post is for 'barrel techies.'I was packing an old Ithaca Knick Victory Grade SBT and noticed the familiar LLH mark. I don't remember seeing this barrel mark on other Knicks. I know the later Knicks were made from forgings from Pennsylvania Small Arms, Bridgeport Pa.(Someplace outside of Pittsburgh anyway) I once owned a Fox SBT (J Grade I think) that also had a LLH marked barrel.

Thank you Walt.
For those interested, LLH was the trade mark of Laurent Lochet-Habran, a Belgian barrel maker. Sanderson Bros. is reported to have purchased brls from LLH. Sanderson was purchased by Crucible Steel Co. in 1900 and Crucible also acquired Halcomb in 1911. The 'LLH' mark has been found on Fox, Ithaca, Baker, and Hunter Arms Fulton "Ranger" for Sears guns. Smith guns so marked have been identified as early as 22', and the latest I've seen is a 48' .410

This is Walt's 2E NID with what I believe to be the J. Delcour-Dupont 'Crown over D', also found on Smith and Fox guns. Others have suggested Didier works in France.

More Belgian Damascus and Steel barrel marks are here

Cleaning up around here, I have a late NID set of unfinished barrels. There is the "SB & Co T "mark on each tube. Also the barrels are 32 1/4 inches long. So some was removed during finishing to get final 32 barrels. Might explain why the odd barrel length might be a bit long.

So what is the P or T in my case?? Will polish and magnify tomorrow to be sure of mark. Also, I will dig out the Lou Smith reference to S Buckley & Co. and post that data.

And if Crucible acquired Sanderson Bros. Steel Co. (the Syracuse works of the British firm) in 1900, why would SB&Co by stamped on barrels for a NID?

The pic I posted sure looks like S.B & SoP (Pittsburg??)

I do not know exactly what the thread is about but it did bring to mind the S.B.&co because of the ones I own I only have one with this marking. 438512 Mr. Snyder can tell more about the gun from that. It is a 16ga with 30" full and full the rest are LLH and the D with the crown.

An internet search didn't turn up much.
Samuel Buckley supplied the Confederates with uniform buttons.
This is the Silver Makers' Mark for Samuel Buckley & Co., Birmingham registered with the London Assay Office 1907

Clearly a 'C' rather than a 'S'
No S. Buckley & Son that I could find.
