I have a Citori on which I converted the ejectors to extractors by changing out the springs. I have been using this configuration for a few years now and as I generally wear some sort of glove, I find it difficult to remove the shells from their chambers and I'd like to return the gun to it's original configuration. The problem is that it was easy to remove the heavy springs, however I am finding it near impossible to replace them. Does anyone have any suggestions for reinstalling the original springs? I cannot compress them enough to get them back in place.

Amazing how every time you go near a spring, you need some sort of catspaw. Doesn't mean much to the forend of a Citori but I recently made a cranked rebound spring pusher for a Smith revolver out of a 3/16" dia. pegbd. hanger and a chunk of broomstick. Half the fun, elegance don't count; steel is stronger than fingers.

rpm: I had the same situation as you. I removed the ejector springs on two Browning Superposeds and one Browning 325, as I reload and really don't need ejector guns. I had the same problem of low hull extraction and difficulty in grabbing onto the hulls to remove them. I read on another BBS where a gent decided to replace his Browning Superposed factory ejector springs with the Colt 1911 (auto pistol) firing pin return spring. This Colt spring had sufficient power to kick the fired hulls about a bit less than an inch up out of the chambers...which allowed him to easily grasp the fired hulls. I can tell you this ejector spring replacement works well in my Superposeds and my Browning 325...all in 12 GA. I'm an "occasional" user of these shotguns, and have used each only several times since ejector spring replacement. How the springs will last /hold up during volume firing is not yet known. My oldie SxSs see more daylight than my O/Us. Offered FWIW.
