I found this old British DR in Europe. Circa 1890 hammergun with toplever, damascus barrels, cal.500 BPE 3". Appearantly of good quality, but with two major issues: forearm missing, stock broken. On the other hand the bores are good and lockup is tight (on face). As a restoration project basis, how much would be a fair value?
Thanks,
Jani

Jani is the forearm iron missing or just the wood? It makes a huge difference.

Mike, unfortunately the whole forearm with iron is missing... Jani

Jani I'd pass unless it was very cheap.

Mike, I have a good Ferlach-trained gunsmith who can make me a new forearm iron for a couple of hundred $$$ I guess, so no real problem about that. I can probably get the gun cheaply, but would appreciate a rough estimate... Jani

Jani I received your photo. I will post in a bit. How are the bores?

Mike, the bores are said to be good (I did not see the gun myself).
