A friend wants to leave his Model 51 Ithaca to his Grandson. Unfortunately the barrel lug has failed and detached. He's looking for a 28" vent rib barrel. An ideas? I know it's off topic but it's a dream gun for that young Grandson.

They do show up on Ebay if you are patient. Get a 2 3/4 chamber as the 3 inch wont cycle regular loads. Look into a new spring and buffer kit from Diamond Gunsmithing. Otherwise the guns are prone to break the slide assembly which would be a drag for the youngster
