Hoping the brains on this forum can help me identify who made this little gem.

On the barrels it says "Made in Belgium" as well as "For Frank Pugliesi Trenton, NJ"

There seems to be a similar gun at Puglisi Gun Emporium, a 28ga over under. I'd like to link to it, but I can't connect to get onto www.pugsguns.com right now. I would appreciate it if someone else would give it a try?

Here are some pictures:

It has a Miller Single trigger:

More pics to come.

Proofs:

Is that a cursive N? If so, does it indicate that this was made in 1935? It appears to me to be a newer gun.

Thanks in advance for any insight you might have.

I think the only part of JBAC that really applies is Belgian.

If that's what a JABC is then I want one!

I don't care what you call it. I like it.

What I can confirm is that the name of the controller was Delsaux Walthére and he workted from 1929 till 1968.
So it is possible that your gun was made in 1935 according to the letter " n "
Marc.

Thanks Marc!

What marking tells you this? Any idea what the JF marking on the barrels means?

The engraving vine motif is similar to that used by Kornbrath and other Ferlach and German engravers. I think it was called black leaf. From the Miller trigger, engraving style, stock style, and checkering pattern, I'd say the gun was finished up in the U.S.

JF marking is probably barrels by Jean Falla. Very productive and common barrel maker of the highest class.

Cute gun. I think I'll dare to partly agree with Daryl on the beautifully executed checkering.

The beavertail definitely looks American to me. But the "pattern" on the stock is so wild and wacky I can't make that same call. To me, if it's American it must have been done by a west coast guy who usually does flame paint jobs on "choppers" (I hate that word)

That checkering pattern kind of reminds me of my No. 55 Model Grade Tobin --

It is Jean Falla gun as Daryl stated.

It was nitro proofed in 1954 according to the lamda date code. Do a search here for Falla and you will see more info.

If this is your idea of a clunker. I will buy it from you at clunker prices....

The vine engraving reminds me of the Pieper sidelock that was auctioned off last winter by RIA.

I think Pete has a picture of it somewhere.

James
