The hunting close, within 100 miles, gets a 1998 Toyota Tacoma. The dog really likes the front seat. On the way back I'm happy to have her in the back under cover. The longer trips get the use of a 1998 extended cab 2500 Ram Diesel. The wife gets the front seat the dog gets the covered back. They both are happy that way. Altho, I have noticed the dog eye balling the front seat when the door opens. I just have to remember blond in the front brunette in the back or the bald one is in trouble.
