Very nice looking piece Battle. Just curious, since I am not a grouse hunter: what qualities make this a good grouse gun? Based upon the habitat I hear talked about in which grouse are hunted I am guessing the combination of short barrels and the first fairly open choke followed by the tighter choke for those escaping the first shot. Am I on the right track? Like I said, I never have hunted grouse but it is enjoyable reading about the exploits of others who do. Good luck with the sale.
Well just my idea is that it has short barrels and a gauge in my opinion suited for the game. But obviously any gauge is as well suited as I've taken grouse with 28, 20 and 12ga's. Perhaps the chokes could be opened a little for a better pattern for wing shooting. Easy enough done.
