Some of the BSS's were fitted in that the forend iron pulls the barrels forward to contact the hinge pin, and don.t have the barrel face fitted to the action face, I even have one in 20 Ga, and it seems to work OK, but it sure isn't right. In that your gun has a loose pin, it shouldn't be hard to line ream the pin hole and fit a proper pin. A taper pin reamer and pin ,like was done on a a lot of American guns years ago. I guess one could set the action up and bore the hole out to an appropriate size and fit a straight pin, but the taper would be a lot easier.
Or just clean out the hole and pin and locktite your pin in. Stud and Bearing Locktite. Use the barrels on the action to pull the pin fwd. Locktite can setup fast.
