Hello Everyone and my first post here!

I recently purchased a Vintage English Sidelock which is was made in 1900.

I've chosen to keep the gun in its original condition and not restore the wood or metal, but I am wondering if there is anything that I can do to "freshen up" the stock and forend without removing the same from the metal work. The oil finish is cloudy and a bit dull, so I am wondering if I can, for example, rub the wood down with a rag wet with a light degreaser, and then once dry apply something like Tru Oil lightly, with my fingertips.

Again nothing drastic, just something that might freshen the wood up and show off the grain better.

Any suggestions or comments??

Thank You!
