The 6.5x57 is a great cartridge, I have the rimmed version in a re-barreled drilling, it kills great.

The original 6.5x55 had a larger headsize and wouldn't chamber( I'm guessing ), but some American made 6.5x55 cartridges were loaded in 06 headsize cases as regular production. I found this out while helping my brother set a rifle up. This way they could use existing drawing dies. Depending on shoulder location then, some American made 6.5x55 might chamber. It's more fun to load your own, though.
