Also, when I bought three match rifles, two bolt guns and an M1, from a former Marine Corps team shooter, that's what they came in. Yours has seem some hard use and was not treated too kindly. I have no idea what it might be worth, but there are collectors who go for Marine Corps memorabilia, and they would be a potential market. Maybe one will see your post and contact you.
