I'm in the process of restoring a Lefever C and want to get the triggers done. They were gold washed but the jewellers I talked to don't even know what that means. Gold plating is the next option and somewhat limited where I can get it done. People who do it here don't think it is a good idea because it is soft and will wear quickly.
It has been suggested to have them brass finished and lacquered. Anyone have any experience with this.
What is the best way to go?
