Ah, tung oil actually has a brownish tint. Pour some in a white cup and you'll see what I mean. I went through that, all that labor and then using a coating that reduces contrast. Didn't make sense to me.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.
