I went and enjoyed the shoot. It was my first time for a SxS shoot. Some of the games were neat. The pigeon ring was especially innovative (and difficult). The sporting clays and super sporting were not long targets and all were breakable. There were a high percentage of dropping targets which is what made the course fairly tough. I was ignorant in regards to what a SxS shoot was all about prior to going to this shoot. I had the idea most people would be shooting 100 year old vintage guns......WRONGO. There was some of that, and even some hammer guns in use; however, the people who were there to win had spruced up target guns (e.g., Vent rib Model 21's with choke tubes and LOTS of Browning BSS guns that were converted to target guns with adjustable combs, choke tubes, etc.). I had lots of fun, but it was eye opening for me. Also, I was a bit surprised that NO scores were posted, even though this was a competition, of sorts, albeit not registered NSCA. It was a cool event overall, and I could tell a lot of work went into organizing this thing (thanks Mark Beasland), and I'm glad I went to the shoot.
