The Indians here in much of the United States have a whole new subsidy system here called reservation gambling. Billions are dumped into the reservations on an annual basis due to this. How much of this actually filters down to the individuals in a whole other question. One tribe, the Navajos, have resisted this "ease to riches" scheme and kept gambling off their reservation. They have my own respect for this and other reasons.
