I have a Double Barrel Percussion shotgun, 12 ga. The locks are engraved (right side a dog pointing quail, left a dog chasing a rabbit. The tang is scroll engraved as is the trigger guard assy. The is a silver shield enlayed in the stock behuind the tang. Each lock is marked whitney. The rib is marked Time Laminated Steel Twist The barrels are definitely twist construction. The hammers have a half cok position. There are no markings anywhere else except on the underside of the barrels. The left has crown over V and what looks like tiny buffalo horns. The right barrel has a crown over R, the same buffalo horns and a 19.4 The barrels measure just under 32" overall and the OAL is 47 1/2" I am looking for any information as to when this gun was made and anything else in the way of identification. Is it a Whitney Armory made or Whitneyville Armory made or a Whitney Arms Co. made. I have not removed the butt plate as I did not want to disturb anything. Thanks for any input. Bill
