I see it broke at a stress concentration point. Glad it got fixed up and is back in action.

You folks are too-gracious. This is nothing more than a tired old Brummy boxlock. It fits me better than any other gun I've ever carried for grouse, but it's nothing special to look at really. The wood is fairly plain, the engraving is nice but minimal and now fairly shallow and worn. The tubes have little dents and dings and there is even some freckling in the interior now. The checkering is getting shallow and the blueing almost gone in spots. Built in 1906, it has served faithfully and well for what? 111-years now. The screw heads have clearly been turned and god-only knows what other work has been done on it over the years. Nothing fancy here, just a good old bird gun.

Heck, it's not even that light for a 16 (5lbs14). All I know is that it works for me

Lloyd,
Yes, perhaps exactly as you said but that's the true beauty of it. Everyone of us should have a gun that is truly "our bird gun". You have provided a very nice example of just that.

Lloyd gets to handle some pretty nice double gun stuff in his line of work.

I think he is a bit jaded. I've handled the gun, and it is a bit more than he gives it credit for, in my humble opinion. I, speaking for my shooting only, wouldn't want it any lighter than it is, either.

We are both lefties, but, his LOP requirement is longer than mine. This gun is cast for us, but, I couldn't bear the thought of shortening it up to fit me.

That said, it sure comes up nice.

Best,
Ted

The English did it better. Let us be thankful this wonderful year and Amazon.com making it possible for us to get Turkey, sweet potatoes,..... for little less at legendary Whole Foods Market of Texas. Now I can buy items at additional saving plus regular stuff like wonderful raw Canadian honey, beer, Canadian bacon, yogurt, shampoo,......and world best gun oil 100% Jojoba oil from Kalifornistan USA (the oil itself my come from New Mexico, Texas, Arizone,...I don't know). What is even better the Whole Foods Market in on the way home from Cabela's and Wegman's next to it. Bless us all on this wonderful uniquely American holiday. Maybe I will wash some Canadian apple pie down with Samuel Smith brewsky in fine French crystal mug!

Jag

Just dont watch any French-Canadian hockey. Youre liable to puke your pie and beer.

A local radio personality suggested yesterday that if you want to consider how fortunate we really are for our Thanksgiving circumstances here, just consider how things are going in Venezuela right about now. The average Venezuelans are now, on average, 30 lbs lighter than they were 2-years ago (her numbers). Evidently, the animals in their zoos have all been killed and eaten because it's so-bad down there.

I can't imagine how all these millennials & younger folks think socialism is so great, Venezuela is a textbook example of what happens after socialism takes over.
