I am delighted to see this thread resurrected by a Smallwood descendant. And I must apologize to Salopian, as I promised to send him pix of my ten years ago and never did. Please let me know if you are still interested.
In the meantime, I have come into a third Smallwood, an 8 bore with 4" chambers and 2 3/4 oz, 8 drams on the water table. It is a thumper with that load, but no worse than the .470 I shoot regularly.
I have been looking for a hammer 12 to round out my little collection of Smallwoods.
