Hi all, there is a discussion over anothor forum regarding cleaning case colors. One of the suggestions was to use G-96. I have never heard of this cleaner/lub. The poster says "it brings out the beauty of all bluing and case coloring"
Has anyone here used this product? If so what's your opinion of it compared to say Remoil? And does it really "bring out the beauty" as stated?
Thanks as always!!
Happy Easter to you all!
Greg

G96 is an entire family of products including the aforementioned gun bluing creme. I switched from my prior favorite to G96 gun treatment when suggested by a collector. I have had excellent results with it and it's all I use except for the ocassional use of a good synthetic grease on high pressure points. Do not confuse G96 gun treatment for G96 Silicone.

I use G96 Gun Treatment. Yes it wets the surface of case colors and does make them more attractive. I typically strip colors and protect them with water clear lacquer. If you have seen solvent stripped case colors they look dull and velvety when wetted with Lacquer or G96 they stop appearing dull and velvety and are more vibrant because the surface is now smoother and more reflective.
