The checkering on the side panels is the finest I have ever seen. Must be 40 lines per inch.

Oh, and the second pheasant is left handed. That's not something you see everyday...

Ah....a trick question! And the answer is....the gun has NO visible pins or screws! This must mean that it is a drop lock gun! :-) Jeff Stephens

Interesting about the no pins/no screws.

Side panel checkering is finer than grip and forend checkering.

Going from memorey only,it looks a lot like the gun pictured in the 1939 Stoegers that was listed at over 700 dollars and listed as having drop locks.Listed as being available in any guage as I recall.

The oddest thing to me is that it is not one of those over the top German guns with the heavy carving and engraving.

Does look like a lefty and I would guess that's odder in German guns than most others.

Are those cocking indicators behind the fences?
