Hi,new to the forum and I have been realy impressed with the level of knowledge here.
I just picked up this Meriden Firearms AJ Aubrey serial #2172.Appears to be a midgrade, nice engraving, damascus barrels with a good pattern remaining.Lock up is tight with no play, barrels bright with no pits, all numbers match. It has a very solid feel to it
The action feels real gummy, seems to be a lot of dried gease. The worst is that over the years it has seen the careless use of screwdrivers with the heads buggered and the screw under the lever is stripped.I will need to find a good doublegun smith to take it apart, clean and lube it and repair the stripped screw.Any recommendations in the Maryland area?
No real proof marks on barrels, just serial #,the letter D and a 2.The watertable is also just marked with the serial # and a letter I can't make out.
I have attached some pictures, any informaton is welcome.
Thanks,John
