I just looked at the same site. I don't see any "metal restoration" section. I also don't see any section marked "double gun restoration".
If I were Les I would be deeply offended for comparing him to "Ed The Torch"
Are you sure you have the right site? I used the link to go there and saw nothing about anything you say.
Under metal restoration prices, Double Gun Restoration.
http://www.diamondgunsmithing.com/page2/page4/page29/page29.htmlI have nothing against the man, I've never used his services, just stating the facts.
I doubt I will ever send him a gun though and here's why.
I sent him a message about having my Flues 20ga, fixed, the timimg is off and he said it may need new firing pins. (To the man's credit, he answered my emails promptly and courteously).
When I inquired as to whether he had the proper 2-1/2" shells to test the gun I received the following response...
"I won't let the gun leave my shop with short chambers. Liability reasons. To lengthen chambers is $30.00/barrel. I'll test fire with 2 3/4" light field loads."
I have a nice little 1915 Flues that weighs about 5-1/2lbs. and I fire 2-1/2" shells because it has the original 2-1/2" chambers. How many Flues have we seen with broken frames from loads that were too heavy? No, thank you!
Besides, I would think he'd be exposed to more liability if he lengthened them.
