I have a 1910 Beretta catalog. Beretta was purchasing barrels from many sources. Among them Alfred Field of London, WC Scott, Krupp and Cockerill. I know all these except Alfred Field. Any information would be helpful.    Pete

Pete, Brown's London Gunmakers has Alfred Field & Co. at 199a Bishopsgate St. Without, EC, 1892-1893.
Without what, I'm not sure :-)

Interesting. The Scott looks like a Premier. Are there any other Scotts shown?

After a late meeting w/ McPhail today in Louisville, I found a copy of "The Greenhill, Dictionary of Guns and Gunmakers" - John Walter, and in it Walter notes Alfred Field & Company as a gunsmithing business at 77 Edmund Street, Birmingham from 1891 until c. 1914. Then they had a sales office at Forrester's post.

There are 4 guns being offered.
They vary by amount of engraving and type of barrels.
4324 - damascus - 325 Lira
4325 - as above with pistol grip - 375 Lira
4326 - damascus with fine engraving (the one shown) - 500 Lira
4327 - steel barrels by Webley, extra fine engraving - 875 Lira
Wish they would have shown all them. This is the earliest Beretta catalog I have at the moment. It is the only one where they are selling arms from other makers. They also have a Nicholas Pieper semi-auto pistol, a Hopkins & Allen revolver and some one's knock-off of the Bulldog revolver and some variants.

4327 - steel barrels by Webley, extra fine engraving - 875 Lira?
Does it say if this is a hammerless or hammer gun? I can't see the price jumping that much just for fluid steel.
