I have been looking for a nice 16 ga M 21 Bird Gun for a long time, particularly with double triggers. Found this at a Gun Show for a reasonable price and as well with the right chokes I/C -I/C
It is an early gun 6000 series number. Schwings book doesnt indicate a gun this early available with an English Grip, but I guess you could have ordered one?

Based on the checkering it looks like it was converted to a straight grip. I'm quite certain the birds won't notice, congrats!

It looks like the trigger guard tang only has one screw. And the tang looks rounded on the end. Am I correct?

Yes Jimmy and after looking again, I am convinced that the pistol grip was converted to straight grip.

You could have the trigger guard tang extended and extending the checkering pattern or removing the pattern and having a new straight grip pattern cut. Bobby

I bought a 21 with the shorter trigger guard like that on it once and I still have it. The straight grip stock had nice Fajen wood with a leather pad on it and I got it at a good price. Plus I got the original stock with it. So, what the heck. Your gun does seem to have a lot of drop. How does it fit you? If you shoot it OK then, whatever. Right?

I can also tell it is not an original stock by the flutes on the comb. Much more exaggerated than the factory ones.
