ted, pls help me get this right...
definition of swamped rib: where the top rib lies below the top surface of the barrels...
concave rib, where the surface of the top rib is not flat and appears to be scooped out at angles between 180 ane 360 degrees...
which begs another question...what is the opposite of concave?
reverse concave? crowned?
keep it simple and keep it safe...

reverse concave? crowned? ed, Convex is the opposite of concave. I have illustrated swamped ribs, right here, for decades for you. Maybe it would be easier if you just remembered a swamped rib has a ramp going down, at the breech, and a ramp going up at the muzzles. You should not make claims as to what rib a gun has if you are unsure of that. image to imageBest, Ted

He knows what a swamped rib is, Ted. Just another "look at me" post. Tiresome crap. JR

ted, so if there is no pronounced ramp, but a gradual slope down, with most of the top rib below top of barrels, what do you call that? a sunken rib?
an regarding convex...
has anyone ever made a gun with a convex rib, swamped or raised?
