Glenn:

First, a pic of the gun and the barrel flats would reveal a good deal of info. But check on revdocdrew(& PeteM)'s proofmark site: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=17575181.

Kind Regards,

Raimey

I asked my father and he said that his father had this gun when he was a kid. My father is 73. He has no idea were or when his father got this gun. All my father said was his dad was a member of the North Windham Ct sportman club. My grandfather was a dentist so he did have the means to purchase and expensive gun.

If possible, look at the name and absolutely know that it is not a T but an E.
Ernest Dumoulin followed his famous father, Henri, in the building of very, very fine shotguns. Both side locks and box locks.
Ernest started in the very early 1930s and that time frame fits the gun under discussion.
His best guns were/are the equal of a London best although do not bring that price today.
Best,
John
