My lace on pad is a RedHead that I've had since I got the Super in 1963. They are the nicest lace-on I've found with no external seams. I've got a drawer full of others that were on various guns when I bought them, but none seem as nice to me. My Super-Fox has an original Jostam Anti-Flinch for a length-of-pull of 14 1/8 inch, but until dressed for late season cold I need the extra length.

The picture of Nash at the age of 68, holding two Geese at Tom Bash's "Lost Quarter" near Swan Lake Refuge, Missouri, shows (probably) Bo Whoop I with a lace-on pad. There is a good picture of Nash holding Bo Whoop I, with the ivory forearm tip missing, on page 262 of "Mr. Buck the Autobiography of Nash Buckingham."

Hopefully someone with a flat panel scanner can put these various available pictures of the Whoopster up so we can continue discussions.

Here is the Red Head pad and a few others that are not name stamped. The pad next to the Red Head is of similar construction but of thinner, softer leather.

HO" I am always Very Interested in Peoples Opinions concerning this Subject. This is not 'Duplicating"an actual Firearm,ie.Changing serial Nos.Faking Factory Letters.Building up "Provenance" I'm sure all of the 'Collectors of Fine Firearms'Abore this Practice. I have a couple of Fox HE 12bores, and there seem to be some Younger Shooters, Duck-Hunters, Collectors, that have been following the "Saga" of Nash Buckingham and his Favorite Becker-Bored Super Fox and its Performance over water Killing Ducks etc. at "Long Range".They basically want to experience the 'Thrill of shootin a shotgun of yesteryear using the old fashioned Catridges so they can understand what all these Old Fogies are all worked up over!!I might just 'Upgrade the Overall Appearance" Poss,XE or I have 'At Hand' a Gough engraved FE,but I would make all the Basic Dimentions"Bo Woop" Stock length, Drop@ comb & Heel,Weight. Wonder if it had any Cast'? Silvers Red Recoil Pad, Did it have the 'Spur' inletted into the "Comb @ Heel????"Thinks......If Only I had a Photo of the Original Stock.......!!!!!! cc/dt

Romantic duck guns?
What I can remember from the Missouri River duck sloughs of the middle 60s, were pumps and autos and tough old guys in leaky boats. The gentlemen here shot quail, or went to Iowa for pheasant - with their A5s.
