I came across this 20 gauge Stevens 5100 (marked Ranger 101.6) with what I believe is the original leg-o-mutton case about 10 days ago. It was on consignment in an automotive parts / sporting goods store in central WI. It's in very good condition and I couldn't pass it up so it went home with me.
This photo was from Sunday in northern WI on it's maiden voyage. Great grouse hunting this past weekend. My partner and I put up 25-30 grouse and a few woodcock in about 5 hours of walking old logging roads through young aspen - very thick. These 3 few to the 5100. It was the best grouse hunting I have seen in years. I probably would have gotten a few more but no matter how many times a pulled the front trigger, the second barrel never fired!! It's been a while since I used double triggers.

One other interesting note. When I got home I took the gun out of the case and noticed a small, round piece of cardboard in the bottom of the part that holds the action. When I pulled it out and looked at it I found that it was one of the inserts that went on the aluminum foil on the top of an old glass milk bottle. It had the name of the dairy on it and the interesting part was the phone number - 819! That's it.
