Been looking for information on Husqvarna shotguns. I understand that some models have Sauer actions. Any source of information would be appreciated, especially internet site (have searched but not found anything very informative). Thanks much.

I have a pile of data on Husqvarna, if you could be more specific. Perhaps the best tidbit to offer is to keep a sharp eye out for an early model 310E...usually for between 600 and 900 dollars and up, you can get a diminutive Sauer action with secondary safety interceptors, and a Cadillac ejector system...boxlocks with safety interceptors are quite rare...but just like Sauer, Husqvarna made some late cheese models...it's the same as comparing a Prussian Sauer with a Sauer KIM model...the KIM's (model 60) do not interest for me in the least, same with the late Husky's

thanks much for the information Pete and Robert. Robert, I am interested in your comments on the late Husky's. What I am looking for is a 3" chamber for waterfowling. Mainly looking for 3" right now since I have so many shells. Might look at getting a 2 3/4" bored out if enough metal in the barrels. 28"-30" barrel length, straight or pistol greip, double trigger, 12 gauge. Also, how to tell an early model 310E? Thanks for the help, as always the good folks here come thru

The Model 310 was made in four basic grades A, B, C and D kr. 240 to 540 with ejectors kr. 125 extra. An S was appended to the grade designation if the gun had Svenskt Specialstal barrels (it seem most did), and an E if it had ejectors. Then there was the 310E (named for the royal forester E. von Eckermanns) which was a very high grade gun which included sideclips but with no engraving for kr. 750. Then ther was the 310L with very fine engraving and Svenskt Nickelstal Antioxid barrels for kr. 1050. There was also a 310X, a pigeon gun (Duvskjutningsgevar).
Most Husqvarna shotguns were chambered 65mm (2 1/2 inch)up until WW-II then 70mm (2 3/4 inch) after. None were ever chambered for 76mm (3-inch) shells to my knowlege.
I've been shooting two Model 310s for years, a 1918 12-gauge AS and a 1947 16-gauge ASE. At the Vintage Cup I handled a later Model 610, what a club!

This is a Husvarna 310 AS...a 310E is the same with ejectors, but Researcher is more correct, this model with ejectors would technically be a 310ASE According to the catalog, the special 310E (forrester), referred to above is the 310mE...whenever I see a 310E listed for sale it's never the scalloped receiver model (310mE) Note, not all 310's have safety interceptors.

Please note that NONE of the Husqvarna doubles were ever rated for steel shot other very hard metal pellets. I doubt that any of them were made of metal hard enough to withstand much use with steel, Hevi-Shot, Hevi-Steel, etc.
I use my older Husqvarna hammer doubles for ducks and geese with Bismuth and Kent Tungston-Matrix, generally in 1,0 oz loads and have no problems killing mallards out to about 40 yards. Now and then I do use some 3,0 inch Bismuth loads with 1 3/8 oz of #5 shot in a early Citori, mostly when I think I have high chance of getting shots at geese. One and one quarter oz of #3 bismuth has also killed geese quite well, as has 1,0 oz of same pellets.
