I found this one in an old family photo album. Does anyone else have similar pictures of custom rifles?

The one is front is a Krag and probably 30-40. The other two are not Krags.

Well, I played around with the picture, the guy next to the guy with the Krag has some sort of 1917 variant (I think I see a hole in the bolt knob), The guy in the back holding his rifle across his body looks to have a 1903 Springfield, I think I see a hole in the right side of the front receiver ring. The other guy carrying the rifle underneath his arm, I am not certain about, but would guess an 1895 Winchester with a Lyman receiver sight on it.

Was rebarreled by Griffin & Howe to 280 Dubiel.
Think it was a 375 before that but not certain.

It's my great uncle in the photo as well he's the one leaning in the bed of the pickup and should have his First year production Winchester 70.

I think the guy with the 1917 type rifle likely has a Remington 30.

Great pictures of the Hoffman!

The hunter is front with his hand on hip (white sox) has the muzzle of his Krag pointed right at his belly- bolt closed- makes me nervous to see that--RWTF

As for the pickup, it appears to be a mid 30's Ford. Guessing '35-'36 since it has no visor over the windshield like earlier Ford trucks had.

Howdy Gents,
Sometime back I posted some info here about a shortened pre-war Model 70 action in a John Hutton (who is mentioned in M. Petrov's second book) stock along with numerous photos. About that same time, while going through more of my dad's stuff that he had gotten from John's widow when he passed, I found an old photo of three woodchuck rifles leaned up against an old car with either a 1938 or 1939 Virginia license plate.

The back of the photo has a photofinisher's date stamp showing Jun 6, 1939 as the date the print was processed. The name 'John Hutton' and 'Woodchucks' looks to be scrawled in my dad's hand writing. The date written under the stamped date was added by me.

It sure would be great to know more about these rifles and who they belonged to! I tried looking up the owner of that license plate, but evidently the records aren't available to the general public going that far back.
